My new book titled “Tropical Daylighting for Working Environment” is published! The book discusses the potential use of daylight in tropical regions with a special focus on the working environment. It includes practical architectural design strategies as well as recent research on tropical daylighting.

I’m grateful for a fruitful technical visit to the Forest City project in Iskandar, Johor. Together with a few engineers, we had the opportunity to tour around a few buildings and construction sites including a case study project of precast construction using building information modelling (BIM).

I was invited to present a paper titled “BIM and Genetic Algorithm optimisation for sustainable building envelope design” in the 2nd International Conference on Building Information Modelling (BIM) in Design, Construction and Operations, on 10 – 12 May 2017 in Alicante, Spain. I was also an International Scientific Advisory Committee (ISAC) member and the chair of one of the presentation session in the conference.
Besides, the conference delegates had opportunity to visit Orihuela which is a very old town, founded at the time of the Visigoths and expanded during the Arab domination period.
