SBEA2148 Design 4

Synopsis

This is an architectural design studio at the 2nd year of undergraduate study. It explores environmental problem-solving and technological (passive and/or mechanical systems) application in building design. The intention is to develop student’s ability to become a ‘translator’ in design within environmental paradigm. The intellectual design process involves analytical thinking in building program analysis, client-user analysis, climatic and contextual analysis, site and space planning, concept, alternatives in ideation, architectural communication and experimentation of environmental performance of the design being executed.

Towards the end of the course the student will have the ability to design a medium-sized low complexity building for a small group of multiple users.
