On 17th April 2015, 23 students of SBEL1661 Landscape Ecology studied on ecosystem of coastal forest at Tanjung Balau landscape. They learnt on ecosystem services and ecosystem resilience of the coastal forest. The services include protection of coastline by mangrove trees and habitation of birds and mammals by coastal vegetation. Some of the dominant trees are Barringtonia, Syzygium, Terminalia, Causuarina, Pandanus, Ficus and Dipterocarp. Discussion on how the vegetation strived in Beris sandy landscape was conducted. The class instructor was Dr Ismail Said.
